This photo was taken by George A. Baughman, the Webmaster’s Grandfather, on Christmas Day, 1913. It shows my uncle Robert Baughman (standing); uncle George Baughman (seated at left), and my mother, Violet Baughman. The book under the Christmas tree is entitled “Playtime Painting and Drawing.” How I remember my Grandmother playing that Piano! The gifts under the tree can’t have cost much (remember, this was a Coal Miner’s Christmas), but can you imagine their value today, and the value of the tree decorations? |
