The
Perryopolis Area Heritage Society was organized in October 1988 by local
residents who wanted to preserve, promote, and further develop the historical
sites of the Perryopolis area. We are a Pennsylvania chartered organization,
with 501(c) (3) not-for-profit status. Our current membership is approximately
250 and the Borough Council, local businesses, community churches, and the
Frazier School District all strongly support us. At the time of our formation
we set three goals: rebuild George Washingtons 1776 gristmill, reinstate
the Perryopolis Pioneer Days Festival, and improve economic conditions of
the area by encouraging tourism.
Meetings are held at the Perryopolis borough building on the 4th Tuesday
of each month at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
We are an active, successful, and dedicated group of people. For more information
