Below: Photos from a previous Summer Reading Program for children ages pre-school through grade 5. The program, “Have A Tom-Sawyer Summer,” immersed children in Mark Twain’s novel Tom Sawyer. All activities were based upon the excerpts from the novel that were read to the children each week. Crafts and snacks were also theme-related. Children participated in a treasure hunt around town and the program culminated in an old-fashioned picnic at Sampey Park.
