Fayette County Before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County personally appeared the un-
dersigned who in his solemn affirmation saith that this is a copy of the original plan of the Town of Perryopolis as it was at first surveyed and
protracted by him a protograph whereof with a Charter annexed signed by Doctor Thomas Hersey, Thomas E Burns and Samuel Shreve proprie
tors of the ground embraced in said plan (as represented by the red dotted lines) and acknowledged before Isaac Sparks Esq. was by the
undersigned deposited in the Recorders office at Union Town; by which Charter the individual rights of the said proprietors were severally ceded
to the public for common highways all the ground of the Streets and alleys represented in the said plan and likewise the eight triangular lots numbered
66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, and 73 were thereby guaranteed to the future inhabitants of the said Town and vicinity for publick uses. The date of
said Charter not recollected, only that it was shortly after Perry’s victory from which event the Town obtained its name.
